I usually say 'Winning bidder must contact me within 72 hours or the item will be re-listed' in my listings (just in case you sell something in the future).
From my experience, people generally contact you to arrange collection pretty quickly. One person who won an item from me didn't contact me for a few days, then said they didnt expect to win the item and didn't want it any longer. So I would say give it a couple days and re-list the item if no contact or 2nd chance offer if you had other bidders. I would definately contact the person though to say if you do not contact me in X days I have no choice but to re-list the item. Depends how quickly you need to sell it, but I'd try and give at least 2 or 3 more days.
Hope that's of some help! Charlotte

I would urge caution with adding terms and conditions to your auctions that are meaningless. By all means ask for contact early, but ebay allow buyers 7 days to pay so if you relist, resell and then original buyer pays you end up with two winning bidders both able to leave feedback and two lots of FVFs payable.
For safety and to ensure that you can reclaim your FVFs you must wait until you have opened an NPB on day 7 and closed it 8 days later so you can be sure that a payment isn't made which will allow an appeal against an NPB strike.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
