julietiff, can you not ask your council/road service to put a disabled parking bay outside your house,I am not sure where you live, but in Northern Ireland we can get this done for nothing, you just have to prove you are getting mobility/and /or have a Blue Badge, hope you get this sorted.0

julietiff, forgot to say,if you have an O.T ask them to help with a driveway,I didnt know that they could help,we are getting our drive done for our daughter,we do have a drive way,but it's far to small.Or a disability group, you should be able to get the work done, even if you own your home. Best of luck.0

As jmabnc says ,you can apply to the council to have a disabled parking bay marked out on the road or you could ask the council too if they provide grants for such as i know they do give grants to have ramps installed at the property of a disabled person :no harm in contacting your local council to ask .I,ve been here before0

Theres no point getting a disabled bay because any BB holder can park there and if no one polices it anyone else will also park there like all the other BB bays.0 -

At £100 per offence for not putting badge in windscreen, it's a nice little earner for the council to put them in, and it would ensure you aren't blocked in on a drive. I was grateful when the council did it for me, and noticed that it was regularly checked by the parking guys on their mopeds. Perhaps my part of the world is the only one where they ever check parking and where I am the only person for miles who has a blue badge. It took a couple of months to arrange. The disabled facilities grants from the council take roughly 3 - 5 years in my area to come through, so I assume that there are quite a few people entitled to them. That's a long time waiting with no help at all.
However, if you reckon there's no point - don't bother then.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
our council don`t do private parking bays0
