With sound walls and little cutting required, should be around £30 m2

  • Cost to install the units will be dependent on the kitchen layout. You would be better to get three quotes for the job to make a reasonable comparison. As far as tiling is concerned about £25 per square metre is the going rate. May be better to treat the tiling as a separate job

thanks for your replies. bathroom tiling - walls to be tiled sound, ceramic tiles , 10sqm = best quote 150. kitchen - walls sound, just fitting kitchen units/worktops/appliances/move 1 socket/adjust gas pipes for both hob/oven fitting/cold water pipe to washing machine = best quote 600.

Those are very good prices. Out of interest what was the highest quote you had?

That isn't a good price at all - its quite, quite insane if its come from a professional. Otherwise he's a cowboy. Gas requires RGI - ask to see his GasSafe card. If he hasn't got one run away. Kitchen is special location under Building Regs. You need a registered domestic installer - if he isn't run away.

Rule of thumb prices on a per item basis inclusive of required installation materials (for subsequent negotiation as a single contract) are:

    Kitchen Units etc

Fitting cabinets and units £ 40 each

Fitting worktop £ 25 per straight run

Worktop cutouts (hob and sink) £ 25 each

Worktop joins and mitres £ 50 each

Worktop end finishing £ 15 each.

    Plumbing

Fitting sink and plumbing in £ 85

Free standing W/M fitting and plumbing £ 50 (£65 if its integrated)

    Electrics

    Socket £ 40

    Extractor £ 40

Don't forget to add iro £ 80 for test and issue Part P cert

    Gas

    Hob £ 85

    Cooker £ 85

    Tiling

Between £ 20 and £ 30 per square metre incl supply of adhesive and grout. Run a mile from any tiler who wants you, the customer, to supply the adhesive and grout.

    Cheers
  • Hello,

based on your requirements you would be looking at an estimate of £950 to include relevant gas safe/electrical certificates, however as mention by Aircooledheaven it would be better to get at couple of quotes for you to compare. Getting quotes will also allow for kitchen fitters to foresee any problems

    Hope this helps

hi thanks for the advice / help, the quote is from a professional kitchen fitter and he is using gas safe etc pro for the fitting of gas appliances etc similarly for electrics. also needed doors fitting/replacing with furniture (i supply) he quoted £26 and the best quote i have is £20 per door (from a company that fits howdens kitchens). the highest quote was £850 for the kitchen and £250 for the tiling in the bathroom. again from registered/reputable peeps. have gone with the lowest quoted as all appears to be above board and has come with good references.
