Decorating a room - which order?

Am about to start decorating lounge. Need to do walls & woodwork.
Am changing from carpet to wooden floor, so have decided to trim carpet from around edge so we can get right to bottom of skirting.
But, is it best to do walls or woodwork first...
Thanks

Not sure if its the right way way but our way is -
All prep work ,then clean well .
Paint ceiling ,then undercoat and eggshell all woodwork
Lastly paint walls ,as once eggshell is dry ,emulsion can easily be wiped off it(although still 'cut in ' to get a neat edge ) ,where as its harder to wipe eggshell off newly painted walls

If you are glossing the woodwork, do that last.No free lunch, and no free laptop
