Right. When you plug it in, does it give you several options on the screen? Obviously it shouldn't be saying anything about a date enhancement and should give you an option to select connect via PC suite.Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0

Nope. The Phone itself just says those two messages when connected up, in that order too.
Spelling error - 'Nokia' was the word I meant.0 -
Did it ever work? If so, a restore of your phone might cure it. Also, have you got Nokia software update or Nokia PC Suite? What phone model do you have?Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0

Make sure you have the correct version of the PC Suite by going here and typing 6070 into the box.
Uninstall the version that you have along with the phone devices installed in control panel. Then install the above version, and after a restart, plug in your phone and wait until the device is installed. Select PC Suite on your phone if it gives you that option.Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0 -

I Installed it today, so I gather it's the latest version, straight from Nokia's site.

I have turned the phone on and off, but re-starting the computer is not usually essential for basic software etc.

I can't remember for the first install, however for upgrades to the PC Suite, a restart is required. And just noticed the phone model after flipping back to the other thread! Wonder have you got a corrupt download though? When PC Suite is open and the phone attached, what does the display on the computer read? Does it recognise that it is attached?
I know you say that the cable came with the phone, but is it a genuine Nokia cable or is it a generic one? There have been lots of problems with these cables from what I can see.Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0 -

The Mobile is My Friends, and he has got it at the moment, so I may try again soon.

The Cable appears to be genuine, yes.
I have seen a picture of it on Nokia's website. It is a USB to Serial lead which is that strange phone style connector that fits nokias.
The Computer did not find it whatsoever, it went totally unheard of :cool:0 -
By the sounds of it then, and judging from the number of complaints on the Nokia website, it appears you might have a duff cable.Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0
