ex flatmate taking out loans at this address
Hi,
This is my first ever post!!!
I have a reccuring issue with some ex flatmates who keep taking out high interest loans and registering this address as their own even though they moved out over a year ago. I am no longer in contact with them (we fell out) but I was wondering if this was some type of fraud? The last time they did this I contacted Provident personal credit-with whom the loan is with- and gave them a forwarding address. (Both my ex flatmates were indepted to provident having defaulted on their payments.)
Is there anything I can do about this exept call provident again about this, it's not cheap either provident use an 0844 number!

It's probably "fraud", if you want to view it like that.
Either a) they're trying to send the debt collectors on a wild goose chase or b) they've got a better credit score by saying they still live at their old address.
One of those is probably worse than the other0 -
You could write to each of the credit ref agencies and disassociate yourself giving details of all parties, names addresses etc.

Disassociation Notices
There may be information on your file about people you have no financial connection with or no longer share a financial connection with you (e.g. an ex-partner). You can write to the agency to "disassociate" yourself from them explaining your reasons. You will need to fill in a form giving details about the people you want removed from your file. Make sure you contact all the credit reference agencies to ask them to create a disassociation as they will not share the information between them. If the agency refuses to accept your notice you can ask the Information (Data Protection) Commissioner for help. The address is:
The Office of the Information Commissioner

I've checked my credit report online and I am not associated with any body financially, should I still contact these agencies about disassociation?0

May I ask why you are contacting these companies?0

Just send them back with 'not known at this address'
Its a criminal offence to open mail not addressed to you personallymake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
