Steam Cleaner?

Hi There
Just wondering if anyone uses a steam cleaner instead of mopping tiles? I'd be interested in any recommendations. We have a dog and toddler so I would think a steam cleaner would be more hygenic but just wonder if it can also do damage maybe with grout or skirting etc. Would be very interested to hear please!

Although I have a full sized steam cleaner, similar to the Polti, I don't often use it just for cleaning my wooden or tiled floors. This is because I find it much quicker to wash the floor on my hands & knees; I don't like using floor mops.
The steam cleaner takes probably 10-15mins to heat up & be properly ready for use & I can have the floors at least almost done in that time. I only use it for cleaning the tiled & wooden flooring when I already have it set up to clean carpets & other things around the house.
Steam cleaners are wonderful for carpets, curtains & general all round cleaning. They are brilliant in the bathroom & kitchen & perfect for cleaning the wall tiles.
If you are thinking of getting one then get yourself a proper one, you won't regret it. Mine is a Morphy Richards Grimebuster, but don't think they make this model now. It came with various attachments such as steam generator iron, wallpaper stripper etc.The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
Thanks for that, I know what you mean about preference being to scrub on hands and knees - it's feels much more satisfying!!0

I asked a similar question on another thread, as I have been toying for some time to get one, but there are quite a few on the market now, so am trying to get some feedback.
here is the link of the replies I got, not many lol, but might give you an idea.

I have been looking on Ebay a lot, and lately there seems to be one going for under £30 I think it is, still not too sure about one.
I want one that does the bedroom carpets, as well as the flooring downstairs.
I will be interested to know what you have gone with.
