Hi everyone;
I am new to this whole forum thing and I was wanting to know where I could get a half decent overdraft on a new bank account.
I am in my 3rd year of university and am doing my dissertation at the moment, and I am in my overdraft of two of my bank accounts. I am currently fighting a battle with Halifax because they have put so many bank charges on my account it is unrealistic for me to be able to pay them all back as I don't get paid enough to be able to pay them back.
So; as a temporary solution I need to get a bank account that will give me a good overdraft that I can pay back in a couple of months and can have my wages paid into there so I can finally close my Halifax account.
My student loan goes into an Abbey account and I don't want to move that money to another account.
Any advice would be amazing right now!!!!
Thank you;
Satenya.

I'm sorry but I can't see any bank giving you an overdraft when you are already in debt with two other banks. Is there any way you can get one of your current accounts (Abbey perhaps if that's where most of your money is) to give you a bigger overdraft?
Have you considered speaking to your university's student support office about the possibility of getting a grant or short term loan?0 -
I have already applied with both Abbey and Halifax for a bigger overdraft and they just reject the idea, and I am appealing to my university to give me a grant because of financial hardship, and they may give me a temporary loan as well.
Thank you for the reply.0 -
You may be better off posting this on the debt free wannabe board as they know all there is to know about paying off debt and dealing with creditors.0
