trying to book tickets to new york

we usually fly to new york in september, so i was surprised how much more expensive it is to fly in june. the best i can find is £350 return with american airlines for the dates of june 22 - july 6th. that's from STA travel (though it's not a student deal specifically, as i've found similar prices for the same flights elsewhere).

does anyone have any suggestions of where i should look for anything cheaper, or is this the best i'm going to get? we usually pay around £250 in september, which isn't exactly low season, either, so £350 seems like a bad deal.

thanks in advance.

  • £250 in september imho is highly unlikely these days . £350 for anything half decent seems reasonable...maxjet had a brilliant offer provided you booked by the end of march...sorry
btw you may be loaded a bit as your dates are close to the 4th of july

If that's the price including taxes, that's a pretty good deal. Remember, increases in jet fuel, the security fee, taxes and everything else run around £80 roundtrip to the U.S.

£350 for June is a good price, I would take it whilst it's still there, as jenniferpa said, there are additional costs with US travel now. Sometimes people hope to get cheaper than they did the year before and although that can sometimes happen, it doesnt seem to be the case these days :(
