Can you claim for just mobility rather than DLA and mobility. I doubt I would get DLA as I am self caring. My problem is Severe chronic back pain following an RTA 2 yrs ago. I take lots of drugs but the pain is awful to the point where I can hardly walk. I am under the care of GP, pain clinic and orthopaedics awaiting an MRI scan. I drive but without the car I would not manage to get out just to do the basics. Thanks for your help

Someone will correct me if I am wrong but I don't think mobility is possible without the higher rate of DLA mobility.

You say that you have had problems with mobility for 2 years and can hardly walk. As this is the case why don't you apply for DLA - the worst senario is that you would be turned down. You don't have to fill in the form for 'care' if you don't want to (although I think it may be worth doing), just the form for mobility. DLA is for how your illness/condition affects you.
