Making marmalade from non-citrus fruits

We love marmalade in our house, and although we make jam from our soft fruits, we prefer our preserves with a zippy tang. rather than being a sweet preserve. I wonder if anybody can suggest how , or has a well-tried recipe for making a marmalade out of soft fruits such as redcurrants, blackcurrants, etc.

You may have to experiment with a mix - lemons and redcurrants would be pretty tangy I would think - white, red and blackcurrants I find the most tangy of the soft fruits.0

I always thought it was jam...........................
but if you like something tangy without the citrus, try some sharp gooseberries, or use Tamarind juice instead of lemons.0 -
I thought marmalade with soft fruits was jam.
Try the more tart soft fruits with lemon or lime juice added for a zippy tang but it will still be jam.

Marmalade is jam made from citrus peel and juice. If you make it from strawberries it will be strawberry jam. Lemon juice is always added to strawberry jam and other fruits low in pectin to ensure a set.0
