!!!!!! - BG Pay & Go - new meter now card won't work

and now they're saying that it's not the card it's the new meter and they need to get an engineer out on a call. OK fine, but this takes a 4 hour window and they can only come when someone is in the house - I work in London and hubs is a courier so there's noone in till 7pm!!! Am absolutely fuming :mad: I never asked for the meter to be 'updated' and they did it when neither myself or hubs was in anyway, we had someone there doing some plumbing and they turned up when he was around.

Whenever we've had a problem before with the card not reading they've sent out a new one, we put it in the meter to match it and could then merrily top up as we needed to from there, I can't belive this is going to be such a palaver!!!!! :mad: :confused:

Sorry, I know noone can help really but just needed to vent.........the pay and go meters were already there when we moved in a couple of years ago and I actually quite like them as they help me to budget easier than I find with monthly DD but am now thinking about moving off them just to not have all the hassle!!!

Place your bets please, will I get a call at 7 like I'm supposed to........:cool:

    i have had 3 gas cards in the last 3 months not work and a meter change....i dont have any advice but i know how annoying it is.

    Re above, If you require an emergency call out after 7pm, you can always call transco (national grid) yourself on: 0845 606 6766.

  • one its sorted out, take a look at Ebico for your gas, they aren't so good with electric prices but their gas is often the cheapest

    Ebico are good as no tiered gas rates or standing charge.

    I had to have a few cards and a visit when I was with EDF (gas) as they were too thin or something. An engineer at the time mentioned something,
