I have a fault on my BT line and their system won't let me report it!!
People trying to call me get a message saying "Line does not accept incomming calls"
I can't dial out (but hear dial tone)
Calling 0800 800 151 from my mobile tells me I'm not at BT customer!
I am and I have paid the bill!
Online fault tracing will not work "Unable to complete a line test at this time"
Please Help!

BT seem to think that I contacted them a week ago to cancel my phone line as somebody else is moving into the property today!!!!
Needless to say I did not make any such contact. I live here on my own, have done for many years and have no intention of moving at the moment!
I couldn't report a fault as they think (wrongly) that I'm not a BT customer.
After a great deal of being passed around call centres in the Far East I am, in theory, being set up with a new account with my old phone number by Friday!
At first I was told it would have to be new number but they now say it will be my old one.Once it is up and running I feel a very stroppy letter of complaint coming on!

Good luck - our phone and broadband went down a few weeks back. My housemate spent about 8 hours on his mobile trying to sort it out (4.5 hours in one sitting, being bounced from a foreign call centre to the UK, to the foreign call centre, to the UK...) A complete farce. The problem still isn't totally fixed.
Think I've persuaded housemate to move to Sky (not that it took much persuading!), which was my last phone and ISP provided - never experienced a single problem with them, while my housemate has had several with BT.April Grocery Challenge £81/£1200 -

Sounds familiar - apart from how the problem arose. We were even given a new number (my housemates 4th in a year thanks to repeated problems with BT), which it then turned out was rubbish, and not even a new number at all. The "let" (HA!) us keep the last number in the end. Farce. It took well over a week before we had any kind of connectivity - after being told it would "take 2 days", "will be on today", "promise it will be today", ad infinitum...April Grocery Challenge £81/£1200
