I'm tinkering with my first attempt at a web-site, and all is well untill i come to use my own pictures.
When i open my own pictures and select the one i want to put in the site, it opens up in huge size, and it is impossible to resize it down to just the bit i want, you can move it about a bit, but i can never get it just how i want it and it's taking ages. I only want to use relatively small pictures, (perhaps 3 pictures across the page to give you some idea.)
I have Photoshop CS2 which i use to resize the pictures to what-ever i want, but as soon as i try to open them in my web-page, the picture is back to full screen size again.
How do i get my photos to open up in small size.
Many thanks..

Not sure if I'm understanding you, but try this.
When you place the image on the page it'll look something like:
<img src="myimage.jpg" etc.... />
If your pictures are of a huge resolution, by adding weight and height attributes to the image object, the browser will resize them itself.
<img src="myimage.jpg" width="100" height="100" />
If you leave the width and height out, it'll view the picture by it's actual dimensions. Stating them forces the image to be resized.
Ideally though you want to create thumbnails of your images. For it to be automated though you're talking server side scripting languages. Something like Picasa (free from Google) will generate web pages and thumbnails of all your photos.
Also, how are you setting the size of the images in Photoshop? By pixel? Sounds like your setting it via cm/inch but the ppi is why it's at such a high resolution."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0
