Hi all,
I am Self Employed and my Partner is on Contribution based job seekers. Can i claim Working Tax Credit on myself while my partner still claims her Job Seekers each week or do they take into account what my partner allready gets on jobseekers or would they stop her job seekers if i was to apply for working tax credit
Cheers

As long as one of you works over 16hrs per week and have children, or one works 30 hrs per week and no children you can claim working tax credit. Contribution JSA is only a tempory benefit for 6 months - so make sure if the situation changes and partner gets work etc to inform the tax credits asap, so they can re asses you or you could end up paying them money they may have over paid you. hope this helpsJULY WINS: £10 iTunes Voucher, Saturdays exclusive gig Tix :j

I do like the way our dear friends at the Tax Credit Office calculate your WTC, based upon your earnings then show you how much you would have got, had you been earning less.
My, these braindead, faceless, senior civil servants in Whitehall. To think, they even run the country.0 -
Hi all,
Many thanks for the advice. Its good to get advice on here as another forum told me that i would not be able to claim working tax credit due to my partner being on JSA and that she would have to come off her;s and onto my working tax credit.

I think your OH's JSA will count as income for tax credit purposes but it won't stop you claiming unless it takes you over the threshold when added to your wage.0
