lost red line for spelling errors

I recently had to reformat my computer. Since the reformat I do not get the red wavy line with miss spelt words when posting messages on any forum board. This is the same for firefox and internet explorer,

any ideas please?

    In Firefox the option you need appears to be:
    Tools menu > Options... > Check my spelling as I type (tickbox in the Advanced section)

    Edit: You may need to add a dictionary for British English if it appears not to recognise the correct spelling of, for example, colour.

    checked that and that setting is enabled.
