There's the first problem - the EA didn't explain himself well at all, when questioned the reason was "so we can chase stuff up". This raised a flag to me... anyway you've all explained in great detail exactly WHY they might need this now. As it happens I've just called the EA to tell them the surveyors will be in contact this week to arrange that and they are happy with this.

In my very limited experience so far all EA's we've met have been some combination of arrogant/rubbish/unhelpful. I'm hoping when I do move into a property that I won't have to sell for a very long time...

Good luck and the scret if you sell is spending enough time researching a good agent - there are plenty but often it is as good as the staff or person with who you are dealing.

I've met a few of those ones too ;) But i've also met some extremely good ones too, in fact, my last move, 3 years ago, would never have got to completion if it werent for my EA - she was nothing short of fantastic - took it upon herself to sort the whole chain of 7 out, which was way above and beyond her job.

Thanks you for the supprt as I know not ALL agents are rogues.

We found some really good staff at some of the agents in chains of which we were part - usually at the top. We were known to send flowers when they were instrumental in chasing things through beyond the normal.
