Hi,
I am planning on going away with some of my friends to Paris in the last weekend in September, we are hoping to go Friday - Monday, having a day in Disneyland and a couple of days in Paris sightseeing. Just wondered if anyone could recommend any places to stay which were in Paris (so main places i.e. arc de triumph, eifel tower etc were in walking distance) we are hoping to drive so somewhere which is easily accessible for driving/parking would be a bonus! Somewhere which is not to pricey in the same sort of region as a travel inn sort of price!
Also if anyone could recommend the cheapest way to get across to France, we dont really mind whether it is ferry or eurotunnel, or what time we leave!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers!

Me and OH went to Paris for valentines day :happyhear we stayed at the Hotel des Arts, was recommended in the Times Guide to cheap places to stay in Paris. http://www.arts-hotel-paris.com/
It is near the Moulin Rogue, it is reasonably prices did a decent breakfast and rooms were good, not massive, but we didn't plan on spending our break in our room.
We walked into the centre of Paris, about 15 minute walk but took in some of the sights on the way. Galleries Lafayette, Opera Madeleine, etc.
Despite being out of the way we walked from one sight to the other, in one day we got the metro to Pompodoiu Centre, then walked to Notre Dame, walked along the Seine to Musee de Orsay, then carried on to the Eiffel Tower. Went up to 2nd Floor, no point going any higher couldn't see the top cos of the fog, but would defo go to the top if I went again on a decent day.
The second day we go the metro to the top of the Champs Elysee, and looked at the Arc de Triompe, OH wanted to go up it, but I wanted to look in the shops,
walked the length of the Champs Elysee to the Place de Concorde, then crossed over and went through the Tuilleries Gardens to the Louvre. OH loved the Louvre, I was overwhelmed by what I was seeing, too much for me. Its such a big place, decide which wing you want to see.
If I was to go to Paris again, and we are planning to do so in the summer, fingers crossed, I would defo stay at Hotel des Arts again, and I would go on a boat trip down the Seine....too miserable when we were there.
Othe must see's - Champs Elysee at night...wow...got some stunning snaps when we have stood in the central reservation and have some fab photos of arc de triomphe. OH loved it cos a Ferrari was racing a Porcsche round and round the Champs Elysee. Also Eiffel Tower at night, fantastic, beautiful and even more so cos it was valentines day.....
HTH
Can't recommend how to get there, we flew, but into Orly we should have flown into CDG, we were at the wrong side of city for our hotel... :rolleyes:0 -
You should do a search on https://www.venere.com - it has really good maps on there so you can find something in the exact location you want, plus there are generally lots of reviews too. Reasonable prices as well, and you can get a 4% discount using the code: BK5HX8W - and you don't even have to pay in advance (pay direct to the hotel when on holiday).
Hope that helps0
