If I attach an image to an email, the recipient receives the email with not only the attachment but also the file appears in the body of the email too.
This doesn't happen with Text or MP3 attachments so why does it do it with images?. And more important, how can I stop it from happening?. Seems to me there should be a setting somewhere but I can't find it.

Are you talking about Outlook Express? Are you absolutely sure that the image is actually in the body of the e-mail? When an image that OE can display is attached, it will be displayed after a solid line and also be shown as an attachment. The attachment is only sent once but it is automatically displayed if it is an image type that OE can display. The image can also be detached by the recipient. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

ways to do it are:
- run regedit.exe, find a key likeHKEY_CURRENT_USER\Identities\{GUID}\Software\Microsoft\Outlook Express\5.0
where {GUID} is a unique alpha-numerical string corresponding to your identity.
Set the DWORD value for "Automatically Inline Images" to 0. Feel free to create it if it is not there. - put pics in a zip file
- easiest one - change the extension to something like .txt before sending. OE doesn't know that it's really a pic and won't display it. The recipient has to change the extension back though before viewing.
0 - run regedit.exe, find a key likeHKEY_CURRENT_USER\Identities\{GUID}\Software\Microsoft\Outlook Express\5.0
