Was Virgin Media via cable or BT line?
If via BT line then you would have needed a MAC code from Virgin to transfer your service, and by using this Virgin should know that you have cancelled and therefore refund any overpayments made.
If Virgin was via cable then you needed to cancel this, and you may be liable for any charges. In this case if Talk Talk said they would cancel Virgin for you then the fault lies with TT and Virgin are within their rights to charge.0
