Look out for traditional lime trucks pulling up in Oxford Street and Canal Street amongst other busy haunts as Brugal, the Caribbean’s number one selling rum brings ‘the essence of the Caribbean’ from the rum shacks of the Dominican Republic to Manchester city centre.
Teams will be handing out special limes – the perfect rum accompaniment – each with a Brugal map, highlighting bars where you can redeem the map and lime for a complimentary Golden Mojito.
Sampling teams will be appearing in bars across Manchester until 4 July to offer regulars a sample of Brugal Hispancola – a twist on a classic recipe made with Brugal Aňejo and pineapple juice topped up with cola.
Brugal’s top mixologists have been working with the bartenders to perfect the Golden Mojito. Served in a highball glass, it is made with Brugal Aňejo, sugar syrup, lime wedges, a small handful of mint leaves and garnished with a stick of sugar cane.
Award-winning mixologist Andy Gemmell said, “This is a fantastic opportunity for drinkers to take their taste buds on a journey of discovery to the Caribbean. Brugal is the perfect base for many cocktails and makes the most flavoursome and authentic Golden Mojito.” In addition to this, sampling teams will also be appearing in bars across Manchester until 4 July to offer regulars a sample of Brugal Hispancola – a twist on a classic recipe made with Brugal Aňejo and pineapple juice topped up with cola.
Brugal is the only rum distilled, matured and bottled in the Dominican Republic. All the ingredients are actively sourced from local farms maintaining Brugal’s island provenance.
There are two expressions currently being served in top bars across the country. Brugal Aňejo is a premium blend of aged rums that have matured in American white oak casks to produce a beautiful amber liquid, with a subtle woody aroma and caramel smoothness for a well-rounded palate.
Brugal Extra Viejo uses a blend of more mature rums and has a dark amber colour with an accentuated aroma of wood, a hint of spice and an exceptionally smooth finish.
To celebrate Brugal’s appearance in Manchester, the Caribbean’s number one selling rum is also offering one lucky winner and nine of their friends the chance to win a cocktail masterclass tailored to Brugal at Bacchanalia. For your chance to win, just fill out the form below:
