IThe trouble with the Ikea one is that it isn't veggie, the Colman's one was really nice. I haven't seen it in a while now in any of the well known stores here in Merseyside.
These sauces have really jumped in price too..they used to be around 39p, they are now 54!!and more. What's going on?0 -
Home Bargains have it for 19p a sachet.Jane

Maybe I'm missing something but I've just checked the ingredients in the Ikea sauce and I can't see anything that would make it problematic for veggies
It's got
vegetable fat, wheat flour, modified starch, skimmed milk powder, maltodextrin, salt, flavour enhancers, cream powder, apple flavouring, yeast extract, glucose syrup, onion, stabilzer, colour, milk proteins, spices, paprike extract antioxidants.
Afaik it's no good for vegans or coeliacs, and it's a bit chemically, but it's ok for a vegetarian. Have to admit though that I didn't check all of the E-numbers individually so it could be one of those, I suppose.0 -
Home Bargains and B&M had this the other week about 19p0

Thanks for the heads up on the veggie Ikea sauce. It is ages since I went there and I assumed it wasn't vegetarian.
BTW the "meatballs" I use are the Quorn style ones which are delicious actually, so a meatball sauce is a good addition to the cupboard.
I have looked in B&M but not yet in Home and Bargains. Will try there too. Otherwise I feel a trip to Ikea coming on.
Thanks all.0
