nPower's standard tariff - £240 standing charge for gas, electricity 50% more expensv

I have just noticed how ridiculous nPower's current standard tariff is.

The 'standing' charge for gas (derived from the difference in the tier prices) works out at £240 per year! What is worse, as their standard tariff still has seasonal weighting, pretty well everyone will pay 100% of that £240!

The 'standing' charge for electricity is only less than £1 - but the tier 2 unit price is 50% more expensive than on their SOL tariff!

Admittedly, if you are a national average consumption household, it works out fine but if you are askew for either fuel then you are down the river.
