Hi all, I am going to Nice for a few days in August and would like some recommendations for a hotel in Nice in a good location and to allow easy travel to surrounding areas - such as Monaco.
Any other tips would be much appreciated also
Regards, CM

I would recommend doing a search on https://www.venere.com - really good maps and info on there, and also reviews from people like you and me. And for a 4% discount, use code: BK5HX8W

You can get a bus from the central station in Nice straight into the centre of Monte Carlo and it only costs a few Euros return - fab value!
Only thing is, check with the driver/tourist office whwre the pick-up stop is - the one-way system makes it a bit more tricky than just going to the opposite side of the road!
If you want a beer - there are several bars set back from the harbour front which are much cheaper than the bars in the prime position.
Don't forget to avoid the Grand Prix weekend - you'll never get into Monte Carlo probably from about the Tuesday of that week (practice starts on the Thursday). Not sure what the date is but it is usually late May. Check on https://www.itv.co-f1

The train service along the riviera is excellent, no need for a car. There is a good bus shuttle service from the airport.
https://www.tripadvisor.com have hotel reviews.
Some hotels offer weekly rates, could be cheaper than a 4/5 day at normal rates.
If you want air con or a swim pool the price goes up. I've seen good deals at https://www.expedia.co.uk in the past.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0
