Business Account bank charges - can I reclaim?

Hi,
I've run my own business for almost 13 years and whilst I'd not made a fortune I'd not had serious financial problems. In 2005 I became seriously ill and despite having income protection insurance I began to struggle to cover all my outgoings. I am now well again and rebuilding my business but am being hampered by bank charges. Over the time I was unwell I incurred about £1,500 (I wasn't earning enough to pay any tax so that gives you an idea of the percentage of my income that represents!)
Has anyone tried to reclaim business bank charges?
I can't claim hardship as my income fluctuates and luckily my other half earns enough to cover our outgoings, but only that.
