These are excellent deals , but I wondering if anyone has been to Croatia , and which part is the best bit , e.g family orientated? Should I head off for Dubrovnik in the south or Split in the North ?

Dubrovnik is a beautiful place to stay, especially the old town. However if you have time I would suggest going to Split and catching a ferry to one of the 100s of islands in the Adriatic. I can recommend Hvar, Brac/Bol and Miljet.
We travelled to all of these on a budget and arranged the accomodation when we landed. There are dozens of locals who meet every ferry/bus when it arrives offering accomodation, everything from a room in someones house to a full appartment.
Something to remember is that there are very few sandy beaches in Croatia, most of them are shingle so take a beach towel. Also watch out for beaches with a sign saying "FKK" as these are nudist.

    Have a great time!
