thats fab news chrissy.so whats the next step?are they writing the care plan as in how many hours care you need? are you going to get direct payments?
that bit confuses me,the direct payments.my care manager is coming back to discuss it .
ames, its awful that they havent helped you so far so good for you that you are going to fight it.they do help with the funding for help in the home if they think appropriate but i guess depends on how their assessment of things goes.
i know that i have to have a financial assessment to see i have to pay towards the care.
    good luck.

Ames. I have learnt that you have to fight for everything, or you would never get never get anything! So hang in there and fight for the help that you need.

Ladylumps45. Yes they are writing up a care plan for me. The hours depend on how much I would need and at what times of the day. As mine is connected with dressing and undressing. It is going to restrict me as to when I can go out. I would have to be in home for about about 8.30pm - 9pm every night for help with getting undressed. But if my partner is not up here, then I have no choice.

I am not sure if I would qualify for the direct payments. I am not sure how that works yet! Would be better if I could employ someone who I could change the hours with. As I know that S/S will have a strict rota as to who they see when. But will have to wait and see. Plus I would need help with sorting out wages and paying Tax & NI for them.

I am also going to take my DLA to appeal too. If you don't try, you don't get!!

    good for you chrissy100:T
the whole employing someone and working out the wages and insurance and national insurance etc sounds very complicated.i wonder if somebody was self employed and had their own insurance whether that would be ok and save us from all that working out to do!!
i was told that if you choose someone from an agency then you dont have to do all that.
