Hi,
you really don't need anything other than a normal monitor! I really wanted one of these too but was advised against it by pretty much every midwife, healthcare person going! I think the advice was they make you even more paranoid/worried than needs be which adds more stress to a new mum!
I didn't bother with one in the end and i'm glad.
if you still want to get one you could try here http://www.sourcingmap.com/24ghz-security-wireless-camera-baby-monitor-inch-tft-lcd-screen-receiver-p-6721.html?currency=GBPIt is better to be thought of as an idiot than to open your mouth and remove all doubt

I'm not having a monitor at all - unless your house is massive do you really need one?:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

Have you looked online? I just went to mothercare website (probably not the place to buy them from), but there are quite a few of them, depending on your budget:
baby monitors
Have a look for reviews online - usually plenty of those if you google product name with review added at the end!Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -
We're not having a monitor at all - the apartment's not big enough to justify it.
What I am considering is a secure live webcam so whichever parent is at work, and the various relatives who live in other countries, can check in and look at the baby. We'll leave notes in the crib if she's out and about.
Edit: if you're going to spend the evening looking at your baby, why not sit beside it?Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

I never wanted a flashy one, just basic but dh had other ideas. He bought it from one of the tv shopping channels (bid up or similar). TBH it has been a good idea. We have it downstairs so we can hear if she wakes in the evenings and we can immediately see if she is just moaning in her sleep or standing up and needing tucking back in.
We just have an ordinary sound one for our bedroom though.Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.

And I really have to convince the wifey we dont need one. The reviews where shocking0 -
You might have a baby that doesn't need monitoring, if that makes sense.
Our baby has slept through the night from around 3 weeks (he's now 19 weeks) we considered a video one (well i did) and thought we'd look into getting one when he arrived. He doesn't stir or wake up. We just use our legs and check on him every hour or so before we go to bed.,___,

Your wife will find that her own internal 'monitor' will be enough along with a regular sound one if the rooms are too far apart.
To be honest, we are such bad parents that we used to end up switching it off as you jump at every little snuffle and never get to relax.0
