How much is your time worth?

I wouldn't be waiting, I'd have planned it in advance. I hate waiting I'm too impatient. But on the scary chance I got it wrong....I couldn't wait longer the 15 minutes, although I've had to wait longer then that when paying full fare as the trains have been delayed!!0

Oops, I meant £50 in my previous post.
I hate waiting too but if theres a lot of money involved then I would wait. Not for the odd quid or two though.
There have been so many times that I have had to wait over 45 mins for a long distance train but it doesnt happen nearly as much these days to me.0 -
Iv waited well over an hour before to save £10, its rediculous how much they charge in difference sometimes! They even have trains from Euston that leave 1 min before the off peak commences to make you want to pay more. Didnt get me though, i read a book for the next hour and a half hehe.0

As other say it depends on the journey. My local train service changes from something like £3.60 peak return to £1.75 offpeak return with railcard (which you can only use after 10am or weekends too) - so if I don't need to be somewhere ultra early I'll get a later train that's a bit cheaper, but if I want to go at a particular time I'll just go and get on with it. Don't think it's particularly fair that train companies charge consumers extra to travel in the morning when they're paying from their own pocket though - and I can't believe that anyone in the south of England actually pays their own train fares in the morning to commute to London, because it's so expensive I think you'd be paying to go to work for the day!!!0

Having said the above - I regularly travel on the Heathrow Express, a bargain at only £26 return (!) for a 15 minute train journey, or £40+ if you go first class. Not that I pay for that myself, of course!
But I was in Manchester last weekend (paying myself) and prepared for a rip off train ride into the city centre from the airport - and it only cost £1.75 single with railcard each way! (cheaper to buy that both ways than a return) - so perhaps all trains aren't ridiculously overpriced.
Hot tip though - always look to see if two singles (perhaps one offpeak with railcard etc) are cheaper than the peak return fare.0 -
I guess I'd go with D...
I don't put a high price on my time really, I mostly waste it any hooo!!When you're going through Hell, Keep going!
If you can keep your head when all around you are losing theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation
