Is my stoozing coming to an end? Can I stop it?

HGLT - you are currently answering another of my questions over at stoozing
So let me be straight on this. If you go for an Egg money card (as all Stoozers seem to), you want as low a CL as possible (well not entirely correct but you know what I mean) which of course is the opposites of all the other cards as Stoozers we will apply for, as you will want as high a CL as possible.
Is that correct?
If that is correct, could applying for an Egg money card be seen as a "waste of a credit search", bearing in mind that I will have to apply for another card in order to be able to make most use of Egg money?0 -

The point is that the CL is immaterial if you have a positive balance as you're not doing the BT on the actual Egg CL.
As for a "wasted search" its not a waste if you intend to use it as a fee-free mule, and if you already have Egg Green (dont apply for one now as the T&C are no longer what there were), you are likely not to need another search if previous posters are anything to go by (personally I got egg money first so not commenting from personal experience on that point)0 -
Thanks again HGLT.
I am starting to understand the Egg money card now, so just one further question (if you don't mind).
If I got the Egg Money card, are there many cards which would allow me to do a BT from Egg Money @ 0% fee free - if so could you list off a couple for me please?
I know that in order to do a SBT (Egg pre 1st May, Virgin etc) there is a £50 fee, I am looking to get a feel of how many, and who, I could use the Egg Money card as a Mule for fee free.0 -

Yorkshire Boy (or others) - I have just been accepted for an Egg Money card, so which cards would you recommend based on the fact that:
I have recently cancelled a Barclaycard and a RBS, and from reading on the Stoozing site that LTSB can be troublesome.
I also have a Halifax card.
What should be next on my list of fee free BTs bearing in mind my current cards (and those recently cancelled)?0 -
The cards are listed in order of duration/min payments. Start at the top and work down! If you hover over the card name you will see that the provider name is displayed.Oompa_Lumpa wrote:I have recently cancelled a Barclaycard and a RBS, and from reading on the Stoozing site that LTSB can be troublesome.

Personally (and especially if you're female), I'd recommend M&S. It's certainly the next on my list, but be quick because I believe they're introducing a BT fee shortly (May?).
Just one point, if you've closed down several cards recently I'd wait and make sure they're showing as settled with the CRA's in order to maximise any credit limits you get.0 -
Cheers, going down the list I fancy having a crack at the charity cards. The Stoozing list says they are from the HBOS stable, however when I go to the charitycard website it is clear that it appears to be a Joint Venture between HBOS and Halifax.
As I already have a Halifax card (but not a HBOS) card, am I likely to be eligible for a charity card?
I would find it difficult to believe that a fair proportion of folk who have a charity card wouldn't already have either a HBOS or Halifax card - so perhaps they give dispensation when it is backed by 2 banks - anyone know if this is likely to be the case?0 -
They're one and the same. As far as I know, all their cards are administered by 'HBoS Card Services'.Oompa_Lumpa wrote:I would find it difficult to believe that a fair proportion of folk who have a charity card wouldn't already have either a HBOS or Halifax card - so perhaps they give dispensation when it is backed by 2 banks
If an acceptance, or indeed a good credit limit, was crucial to maintaining my stooz pot, for example in an offset mortgage, I would not apply for two cards from the same 'provider'.0
