Hi Prim, Im sure you will get sorted out. Make up some mealplans for next week and take it from there, you will probably find things lurking in the freezer you can use (if youre anything like me there could be anything in there).:rotfl:

By the way how do you get on with the home hair colour kits? Ive always fancied having a go. It would be so much cheaper. I get mine streaked in the hairdressers about twice a year but it is really painful:eek: and expensive.

got on fine with the hair colour, I was actually pleased with the result, and it will save me a bit of cash as my hair is short so needs done every 3 to 4 weeks  . Streaks or highlights would be more difficult tho!

    Hi Primula,

its so easy to have a lapse, i have them all the time lol & of course it could be worse i have nothing in my food account until next friday i have main meals but need to find about £20 for bits & for the lunch boxes next week.

    Take care

    Hi Kerron

You are right, it is very easy to lapse, thank goodness for this site though. Good luck with your food too, the food/shopping is the hardest bit for me, although I know it's all down to organisation, so I need to work on that.

I'm not sure how to do multiquote, it never works for me either.

You haven't lapsed just tried a method of shopping and it hasn't worked for you, so maybe try a different method and see how that works.
For me the meal planning is keeping the costs down for now so I'm happy with that.

Yeah, I know I definitely need to meal plan and maybe do a little bit of cooking at the weekend and freeze for through the week. The plan is to try that this weekend! Watch this space! LOL

To do list for the weekend is:-

Tidy, clean, hoover & polish whole house Half done - Sat
[STRIKE]Defrost and clean out fridge[/STRIKE] Done - Fri night
Ironing - the mountain is getting even bigger!
    Get quotes for car insurance
    [STRIKE]Shopping for the week[/STRIKE] Done - Sat
Do some cooking and freeze for next week
    A few hour overtime

And by then it will be Monday morning and time to come back to work!

PS Changed my title to include "get myself organised"!

    Have a great weekend everyone.

I find the most efficient way for me to cook is to have the odd cook day at the weekend and batch cook a load of stuff to freeze. Mince is always a good one as you can easily make a base mix and then use for spag bol, lasagne, cottage pie, mexican enchiladas etc. Other good one is chicken for curries, soup etc.
I also tend to buy quite a lot of my veg frozen now to help cut down on waste.
There are some great web sites and books on batch cooking over there. I'm sure there is a list on OS somewhere!
