kLEENEZE ADVICE

I tried kleeneze earlier this year - didn't have much success - but we tried various kinds of streets - the bigger nicer houses were a pain, had to knock for most of them back as people hadn't left them out, and only 2 orders out of 200 books....whereas the smaller, semi-detached houses (not rough, but not posh) we found we got a lot more orders, and people had to sense to leave them outside too lol!
When we finished kleeneze we sold out books on ebay (couldn't sell them to who we joined with as she was in scotland lol and we are in derbyshire) and got about £60 for them with all the other bits and pieces we had too, which was for about 120 books plus the extra brochures - obviously it depends upon having people in your area to buy them off you, and them checking on ebay/local newspapers etc, but it shows you can at least get some of your money back if it doesn't work for you.Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -
It's hit and miss really. There are no good or bad areas! Some will buy, some won't, there's no rhyme or reason to it. It takes time to establish regular buyers i.e. your customer base as you can't really prophesy areas that will or won't buy!'The only thing that helps me keep my slender grip on reality is the friendship I have with my collection of singing potatoes'

I tried it-as have other people in my area. No one survived. I lost money on catalogues and goods that people ordered and didn't pay for Interesting life experience in many respects, I worked out that I earned about 5p an hour, so I gave it up. Don't know anyone that stuck with it .Longest was 2 years from a bloke who'd been a door to door salesman for 28 years0

Be warned though, you cannot change your sponsor and a good sponsor can make all the difference in your business - you need somebody that can keep you motivated without smothering you or acting like your boss! Think on things a little first
I couldn't agree more with the above statement! Very important to find a good sponsor as it will make all the difference to how well you do;)Feb GC £80 per week (Well I'm gunna try:whistle:)

From my SW London experience,
Cheap Council streets, with either young familys or pensioners are most likely to place orders but of smaller value. 10% rate £10 on average I]feel like they are helping "their own"[/I
Expensive V Posh streets will place less orders but much higher value 2% but £30-40 I]feel like they are helping the needy![/I
Wannabe posh street are a nightmare, don't leave out the mag and don't place orders. I]don't want to be seen buying door to door[/I
The italics are my opinion and experience. Don't under-estimate the time involved, be persistent in getting your mags back (try more than once!).
Help yourself by being prompt, reliable and phoning your customers.NO RAIN - NO RAINBOWS

Any more advice would be grand like where have you found the best place to leave catalougues by this I mean I mean richer streets etc ?Any more advice would be grand like where have you found the best place to leave catalougues by this I mean I mean richer streets etc
Honestly, one of the first things I was told by my Kleeneze sponsor is that you shouldn't judge anybody because you can't tell who will buy. At first, I thought that was a load of tosh and like others assumed that certain areas would and wouldn't buy. However, my sponsor (thankfully!) convinced me to start off by leaving a book with EVERY house on a particular street unless I was told by that person not to.
I quickly found that she was right because six months later I have young couples that order from me, elderly people that order from me, single parents that order from me, families that order from me, people in posh/run-down neighbourhoods order from me... If i'd listened to other people who said avoid certain areas then i'd have lost a lot of customers!
For example, there's actually a street I do in a village near me where there are 64 houses. It is a VERY posh street, the kind where all the cars on the driveways are 08/09 plates and very shiney, the grass looks as though its been cut with scissors and a ruler (lol!), the gardens are all very well kept with beautiful flowers, the houses are all 4/5 bedroom builds with big gardens and expensive water features and even the kids play quietly - I swear the entire street was silent! I'm sure you can imagine...
Anyway... the first time I dropped catalogues there, my friend came with me because she was interested in joining and didn't think she'd get orders. I told her to come along with me and i'd do 5 new streets in a new village so she could judge the results. Anyway, she was very embarrassed about going door-to-door on this street, and said we wouldn't get ANY orders. We went back 4 days later and collected £197.95 of orders and several of those people order regularly. Some people there (and even in the "council" areas) are quite snobby and don't have much to do with you other than handing you the cash and closing the door, but other people invite you in and have a chat etc You really can't judge.Success' of 2012:-Debts:Student Loans: £28,7580 -
I've been a distributor for quite some time so if you have any questions then feel free to give me a shout as i'd be happy to help you out. Also, in reply to Abbafan1972, don't worry about not being given your own round.
No offence to you Abbafan1972, but how do you know that it doesn't work without an exclusive round if you've not tried it?
I'm in a village and I know of 4 other distributors that deliver catalogues in my area and I do just fine, and at least 2 of the other distributors do because I know them personally.
I would have thought it would work out better with more distributors as they would have to compete and that's a great way to keep a distributor up to speed with customer service and marketing methods.
With fixed areas for each distributor, some might get areas where there are lots of folk with large amounts of disposable income, while another distributor ends up with a bunch of 'can't pay you...I've spent the money on bingo'..type of people
I'm not stereotyping people either...that is exactly what it is like where I live. It's like there are little groups of particular income level households living close to each other but being served by different distributors...Betterware and Avon mainly.January 1st 2013 starting weight 123 kg
