"At TalkTalk we regularly review our offers and services so that you can continue to get great value. As a result, from August 2009 you will no longer be able to collect Nectar points with TalkTalk.
By making this change we're able to add money-saving features to our Essentials phone and broadband package. Such features include free local calls on weekdays and free calls to 0845 / 0870 numbers in the evenings and at weekends."

Seems a fair enough to me,I`d rather have free calls than points.0

If you feel that strongly about it you`ll have to go with another provider to get your nectar points, although you wont get as cheap a call package than TT.
I didnt say i was a customer did i. I was merely making an observation.
I dont know where you get the idea from that Talk Talk offer the cheapest call packages.0 -
they already brought in the free calls - local and 0845 some couple of months before they announced that they withdrawing the nectar points.
what else is funny is that they PUT UP their prices quite frequently to remain competitve with BT - how idiotic is that
to remain competitive you wither reduce your prices or kepp them the same when everyone else puts them up.0 -
A couple of days ago I got my usual frequent BT letter saying "please come back to us,look what your missing".
For a change I actually read it instead of binning it straight away.
They more or less offered me the same as TT but were fractionally cheaper.
I then started to take notice and compared everything again and finally got to the small print.
PLUS line rental of £11-25 a month!
So for exactly the same package I`m getting from TT
BT want DOUBLE per month.
No wonder people are deserting them in droves. :rotfl:0 -

Talk Talk Inclusive Evening and Weekend calls (No 0845/0870) £1.95 a month and £2.95 thereafter., 12 month contract . (Where same deal is FREE on BT including 0845/0870 on a 12 month contract which can be ceased or roll on.)
Plus line rental of £11.25p Exactly the same as BT.
So BT are not only cheaper you get more for your money.0 -
No I`m talking about the TT package I`m on which is now called Essentials.
I get line rental, broadband (up to 8megs--I average 6.2megs),free calls evening & weekends, free local calls ANYTIME,free 0845 & 0870 within my free call time and also free anytime calls to 36 overseas destinations.
All this for £17-74 a month,which I know for a fact can`t be beaten.
So Youpaymore,it`s looking like you do pay more!0 -

You dont know what services i have got so why assume i pay more.
You can only get that deal if your exchange is LLU as you no doubt know. If your exchange is not LLU or you dont want broadband TT is not always the cheapest as i pointed out earlier.
Why does TT discriminate against phone only customers?0 -
Good to see someone thinks the sun shines out of Talk Talk. Lots of threads all over this site say otherwise. But i guess that applies to all major suppliers.0
