Just to remind you it does work (most of the time)
4 different sellers, 3 businesses, 1 private.
I bought and paid for 3 different drive belts (it's been a week for snapping things) from the business sellers
one on Sunday night at midnight
one on Monday at 3pm
one on Monday at 4pm
They all arrived this morning, first class post, not special, not recorded, so I actually have them on the doormat, and can now go and fit them.
Postage was excellent on two, but I did pay £1.99 for a plastic bag on the third, subtracting the postage on the label from what I paid, but as the belt was cheap the overall price was still very good, so that's what I care about. Feedback wasn't 100% for them all, but the comments were reasonable both ways, so fair enough if you sell thousands a year.
The fourth item, the private seller, I sent two emails, both asking for sizes, both with no response, and it's just finished unsold. Feedback was 100%.

A lot of sellers are terrified into providing great service.

I had a seller who refunded me the full postage price and sent me a message pretty much begging me to take this into account when leaving feedback.... she did it because she had posted the item the next day and not the same day.
I waited until I got the item, and it was okay, left positive feedback, and sent her the money back. This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine:kisses2: Fiancee of the "lovely" DaveAshton :kisses2:I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine.

Its good to see a thread about good sellers for once. In my experience business sellers on ebay are good & efficient. Its nothing to do with being terrified into providing great service. Perhaps the poor ones who deserved to go to the wall have done and we are now entering a new era to get ebay sellers back their good name.0

And the fifth one for the day.
Won an auction for a second hand bike for my daughter on Saturday, a few emails and a phone call later, I arranged to pick it up tonight, paid cash, and took it away.
The bike was as described, and my money wasn't counterfeit.
All in all a good day on ebay.0 -

And just to prove there are good honest sellers on ebay, one of the belts broke after I fitted it. I had bought a pack of two, so I fitted the second, no problem. Took a photo, and emailed the seller through ebay, and as I couldn't attach the photo, offered to email it if he told me an email address. Didn't want it, didn't want the belt returned, just apologised and said he would send another pack of two. They arrived today. What more could you want?0

I dunno, I think I must have led a charmed life, I've been buying on ebay for years, often from the US and I've never had anything but 1st class service from all of my sellers.
I've only ever had one thing not arrive and I gave the US seller a month before I enquired about its whereabouts. He sounded really concerned about it and sent me a free gift as a replacement as the thing I ordered, an audiocassette of a band's demo, wouldn't have been easy to replace or replicate. I thought that was incredibly decent and offered to cover the extra postage which he declined. I'm now his buyer for life.
I even sweet-talked an American seller to ship to the UK when what I coveted was listed as USA buyers only, He charged me only about 2 dollars over the actual postage cost even though the poor man had to make a special trip to the post office to get the shipping charges calculated. It confirmed my faith in humanity. There really are decent humans beings out there.0 -

It's my belief that 99.9% of sellers on ebay are decent honest people offering a good honest service, it seems to be ebay that think they are a bunch of no good scum bags who need keeping in line with endless restrictions and punishments for the most insignificant misdemeanours.
I think ebay often do more harm than good by butting in all the time someone should remind them of what they are always telling us, You’re just a "venue" ...... they're a very vocal and opinionated venue that’s for damn sure.0 -
I had a really sweet American seller this week- asked about postage to the UK and he asked very politely if I would visit his blog, because he'd love to have a UK flag on the visitor map. I kind of had a thought that it would be a "affiliate" site, but had a look anyway.BitterAndTwisted wrote: »I dunno, I think I must have led a charmed life, I've been buying on ebay for years, often from the US and I've never had anything but 1st class service from all of my sellers.

Turned out to be a truly adorable blog about how they are adopting a little girl from China.

99% of sellers that I've delt with have been excellent.
My only problems have been with new(ish) private sellers taking advantage of the 99p listings who then either A) decide not to send as it didn't make enough or
attempt to add postage on in a free listing category. Terms & Conditions Apply0 -
I am an excellent seller and I think I deserve a mention here:p0
