IVA - getting a bank account

I have recently separated from my husband. The IVA is in joint names. We have a Easycash Halifax basic account which is in our joint names. I have applied for a separate Easycash account and have been declined 3 times. The Underwriters will not overturn the decision. I have also approached post office (on the advice of Halifax) and they have nothing to offer, neither do Nationwide. They all seem to view IVAs as bankruptcy.
Operating a bank account with my ex is proving to be extremely difficult.
I need an account where I can set up standing orders and direct debits. I don't even care if I do not get a card with the account. Can anyone provide me with any pointers?
Much appreciated.
thanks
Fizz

You could try Natwest, just tell them you want a basic account and they shouldnt credit check you. You could also try The Co-operative, I have heard that people get a basic account from them without a credit check.Proud to be dealing with my debts, 18 months to go! :T
