    Welcome to ignore.

    Excellent.

That just means I'll have to spend less time correcting you in future...

Hamish what a refreshing change, it's great to have a new bull on MSE! I have been "told off" and put on "ignore" for starting too many bullish threads in the past...cheers:beer: It's good to have some balance imho.

I'm amazed there are any bears left here. Theres certainly few left in the real world. They're becoming an endangered species.

Thought they'd all be on hpc with the last of their kind, misery loves company and all that....:rotfl:

Registers of Scotland actual sold price monthly data series is showing similar rises btw.

    Links here....... http://www.aspc.co.uk/Documents/HousePrices-2009Q2.pdf

    And here...... www.ros.gov.uk

I do prefer the RoSEA figures rather than the ASPC.
Again showing a better account of the transactions as not every property is marketed through the ASPC (although in my opinion a must if you are planning to sell or rent)

I too have a VI in Aberdeen and watch the market very carefully.
I've included a graph below I keep which represents Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire and Scotland up to the latest release in May.

It should be noted that the figures are simply from the reported monthly averages for each area, so there is an element of noise in there, but a good overall indicator of how the area has functioned.

Finally, for anyone interested in these detailed releases from the RoSEA, the direct weblink to the monthly releases can be found here

Aberdeenshire is a huge place, and is covered by more than one SPC, and multiple markets that all perform very differently..

    Bless.

I think Hamish just wants to show off, with his obvious very self pleasing investment. I dont have a problem with that!
Just dont create a thread labelled as a discussion for nation wide housing markets.
I think this thread should be called "Hamish Mass-debation in Aberdeen"

    Yes, apparently the statement......

"So, MSE peoples, how is your local area doing? How do you compare to peak and YoY?"

........ was confusing for some people.

If the resident bears are unhappy with the tone of this thread, then surely they are free to post an alternative "Worst performing property markets in UK" thread.

BTW I do recall some of the newspapers listing such areas. IIRC, some areas were listed on the best and worst area lists!
In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:
