Reclaiming bank charges under hardship

I heard about reclaiming bank charges from Martin Lewis :money: on GMTV and after racking up £1400 worth from Nationwide, decided I would try and re-claim them. I sent a template letter back in 2007 and was told that they were perfectly open about the charges when the account was open, so they would not refund then money. Since then I have heard about claiming under financial hardship...I have since lost my job seperated from my partner and am living on benefits, struggling to support my 2 daughters. I have sent off the hardship template letter last week and will wait to here the outcome. Will keep you posted...

Nationwide's modus operandi is merely to refund charges that the period of hardship started.0
