Does anyone know how to do a reverse search on a phone number? My daughter has received several missed calls from a particular number and b.t. are saying they cannot tell her where the calls are coming from - the phone number is : ***Number edited out by MSE Controller 2 - please do not post peoples personal details without their consent.***

Try google. I do that at work when I can't identify a number on our 'phone bill. They don't always come up but it is worth a try.0

You didn't state that you had .
Try the suggestion above and if that doesn't work either wait for them to ring again or if your daughter thinks it is a nuisance caller ,block the number .0 -

It's quite possible that it is a payphone then, many no longer receive calls.0 -
Perhaps your post is lacking information. ::)
Is the number a geographical number? Maybe we could have the first few digits, eg 01234 567***. If it is a business with direct dialing they may have many lines with the same prefix.0 -
Private payphones don't accept incoming calls. Does she know anybody in the Forces?
The phones in their barracks don't accept incoming calls.
As a general rule, BT payphones will accept calls, so it must be a private one somewhere or it's a call center. Perhaps it's her phone provider - I'm with Vodafone and they have done that to me but I have been unable to ring them back.Watch out people. You don't know what lurks around the corner for you![/SIZE]0 -

As DonnyDave suggests click on to: saynoto0870.com Get on the forum & ask your question, they are experts when it comes to phone calls. They can also save you a lot of money in locating Geographical numbers in lieu of calling expensive 087- & 084- Non-Geographical nos. which are designed to generate revenue sharing for the company you are calling. The longer that they can keep you on the line, the more money they make. It's a scandal!!! Robin0

Have you tried telling BT that it is a potential threat and asking them to investigate it?"This site is addictive!"
