Who should I get to fit gas meter?

Hello all,
I am currently in the process of having central heating fitted in my flat through warm front. The gas supply is being installed tomorrow and now I need to decide who to get to fit the meter. Does anyone have any advice? I am not sure if I should use EDF, who I already pay for my elec or another company. British gas do not charge for the meter, do other companies?

Are you sure you have a choice of companies who can fit meter's into a property after a gas supply has been installed? Only I know in the past you always had to go via Transco who were connected to BGas. Transco is no more however & National Grid is in it's place
If you can get the work done via BGas at no cost then I don't see any reason not to go with them. I know from experience that if you suspect a leak from a meter, Bgas are very speedy to respond. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
Thanks for the reply. I deffo can ask any company, it says in the letter to contact a gas supplier of my choice. I think i'll go with b gas then, thanks.0

BGas seem to be one of the cheaper suppliers at present. do a search on uswitch. Be quick as it wont happen immediately!0

The op can get any gas supplier they want to install the meter and they in turn will arrange for their metering contractors to install it beit it |National Grid, enterprise or onstream to name but 3 of the companies that carry out meter installation work on behalf of the suppliers.I am responsible me, myself and I alone I am not the keeper others thoughts and words.0
