Hi
You only need to do an in-year assessment form if your partner's income has dropped from more than £25k to less than £25k.
You will have already provided an estimate of your 2009/10 household income for your childcare & PLA assessment. (it is always better to over-estimate your income as it's better to have some extra due to you at the end of the year than have to pay some back)
Don't forget you can always contact your new uni/college for help with your application esp. if you can't get through on the "help"line.0 -
hi it has dropped frm £21000 to £10000, is it worth sending in the current assessment also i have estimated my 09/10 income at £21000 so thought if it had dropped by half i might be eligible for more help with childcare will it not make a difference, thank you for your tim in helping me its really appreciated0

I would consider printing off section 9 of the PN1 form and sending that in with a covering note (remember to err on the generous side). This makes it clear you want to be reassessed for the childcare grant & PLA. If you just did the current year assessment form, they might not apply it to your other grants (daft I know, but stranger things have happened in that office!).
Don't forget to send in proof of rent/mortgage, council tax, household insurance etc. if you haven't already.
Also, tax credits are ignored if in your name but counted if in your partner's. You should be informing them of your drop in income too!0 -
sorry did you mean page 9 as thats about my course details i havnt sent in bills etc they never asked for them i did put down how much tax credit on my partners application but they are in my name, oh god im making sure a mess of this0
