Medion Akoya Laptop - not switching on

I have a medion akoya laptop which is about 6/7 months old and its not switching on. THere is a bit on the side where you can see where the light would switch on normally when you switch if on, next to taht is a battery symbol and a bit for that light. When i switch it on the battery symbol light flashes. I have had it on charge all day though so it cant be that. Any ideas?

try removing the battery , then powering up.

The battery may have failed totally ( and will still be under warranty)

Tried removing the battery but still nothing is happening. Although still under warrenty I cant find the receipt, I am assuming they will refuse to fix it if i dont have the receipt?

Possibly a credit card statement might be sufficient. Unless you bought it at PCW, in whch case no doubt they will insist on the receipt.

I paid by debit card, bought it at Sainsburys. Is it likely that I am going to have to buy a new battery?

If it won't work on the mains, the problem is not the battery, it's possibly a motherboard failure

Its not switching on at all even when on charge. Could it be a virus that has caused this?

Could it be the charger that is broken? I was using it last night (it wasnt being charged at the time) and it just switched off and then after that is not gone back on (before it switched off it showed I had 8 minutes usage left and i put it on charge, thinking about it now it prob was 5-10 mins later that it switched off)

Take it back and speak to technical support.....

Oh WAIT, you brought a laptop from a supermarket with staff who know nothing about PC's (a little bit less than PCW) and now it's broken.

Sorry if I seem insensitive, but.... nobody in their right mind should ever buy a PC from a supermarket.

Anyway! another apology from myself, it's 6 months old and therefore under warranty. Take it to the shop at peak times and kick up a storm infront as many customers as possible. You'll get a replacement with little or no problem.#
