I have been lucky enough to get one of the 20p's with no date on. I am not sure though whether to put it on e bay now or hang on to it for a while and see what happens. Any one got any ideas?
Any advice would be appreciated.

.......busy with Dremel removing dates from new 20p's.
Basically, the Royal Mint messed-up, they issued 400,000 20p peices with a date on them. They will give you £50 for any you find and report to them.
The first couple to go up on feebay may have gone for a huge amount, but the remainder won't.Never Knowingly Understood.

Not quite right. Firstly (I guess it was a typo) its without a date. Actual amount in circulation is unknown. It's not Royal Mint who are paying out, its a private company called The London Mint Office (not a UK mint!). They are offering £50 as they know they are worth more. In time they willl sell them on for a huge profit.0 -

It is not the Royal Mint it is company called "The London Mint Office":
The London Mint Office is a wholly-owned subsidiary of one of Europe's most successful direct marketing organisations', the Samlerhuset Group.
So they will be making a buck.
If it was me I would be putting it away for a rainy day. Everyman and his dog will be selling them just now.0 -
Agreed, I would hang on to it for generations to come. This must be the best investment of 20p of all time!In time they willl sell them on for a huge profit.

They mentioned 400,000 on a radio news item. As for the 'London Mint', I ordered a free coin off these people stating that I had no wish to receive further offers.
After that, I got a coin-a-month, in the end they realised I hadn't paid for them (as they were unrequested mail, I had every legal rite to do this) and asked for the coins back.
I returned all the coins (plus a bit of 'extra weight'), but 'forgot' to put a stamp on it. Never heard from them again.Never Knowingly Understood.
