HSBC - Find out what's going in and out a day before

I maybe the only one that doesn't know this, but I phoned HSBC's Plus line today and asked if it was possible if they could tell me what was going in and out of the account tomorrow, and was informed that I can do this by ringing back on the same number, pressing option 1 and then option 3, which tells you everything going in and out of your account in the next 24 hours.

I used to wait until 1am or so to find out how much I was getting paid on payday, but now I can do it a day before.

Being with them 7 months and didn't know this! Hopefully this might help at least one other person.... :p

They've done it for years, my first proper account was with them and I used to ring them to find out how much I was going to be paid the day before so I could budget - and this was at least 10 years ago!

Hi I remember years ago you had to speak to someone to find this out but is it all automated now? I haven't rung them for ages, just make do with online if I possibly can these days !

I just called telephone banking on 01226261010. It is option 1, then 3. On the next menu, option 1 tells you debits due in next 24 hours, option 2 tells you credits in next 24 hours. Very useful and I never realised this was available in the 4 years I have been with HSBC! No separate registration is required, you just use your account number, sort code, dob and pass number (same as internet banking).

How do you do this with First Direct? If you call them up, you get through to a real person rather than an automated menu system.
