Apartments in Sorrento?

We're going on our honeymoon to Sorrento in September and looking for a apartment. Ideally it would have a good size double room, maybe a separate lounge and not a showstopper but it would be great if it had a terrace with nice views. Don't mind if there isn't a kitchen as we don't plan to cook! Can anybody recommend either an apartment they've stayed in or a good website to search on?

Thanks for any advice/pointers...

    Hello

Can I ask first: have you been to Sorrento before?

I went a few years ago and we originally intended to stay in an apartment right in the main street, but due to booking problems ended up in a B and B a mile out of town. When we got there, we had a fantastic time... but were so glad we didn't get the apartment as the main streets (an some back streets) of Sorrento are so unbelievably noisy with people on mopeds/scooters - it is like listening to chainsaws driving up and down!!

I'm sure there must be loads of peaceful apartments available for rent, so don't mean to put you off... but my tip is that if you want a romantic apartment for you honeymoon, then make sure you ask in advance what the noise, etc is likely to be like.

I can't remember any websites offhand, I just googled 'sorrento' and 'apartments' and loads came up. If you want a package holiday that is a bit special, then Thomson's 'Simply Travel' is well recommended by a friend of mine.

Will take this on board, thanks v. much for the advice. We're now also considering Positano and Amalfi as a base. There's just too much choice!

I would recommend doing a search on https://www.venere.com - really good maps and info on there and reasonable prices too. You should be able to find something appropriate on there, and for a 4% discount, use code: BK5HX8W

    Hope that helps.

Haven't been to Positano, but have been to Amalfi and it is very beautiful.. It depends on what you want to do really; if you want to be out and about, visiting Pompeii and Vesuvius, etc then Sorrento is a good base because it has good transport links (it is on the Circumvesuviana rail link from Naples). But if it is a relaxing holiday you want then somewhere like Amalfi is ideal (though transport links are more limited and you'll need to use buses, etc rather than trains).

Hope you have a fab time!
