Final pay advice after redundancy

Hi there - I know there are some good knowledgable people on here - so may I pick at your brains please???

I have been given 30 days of 'your job is at risk'. This expired last Monday. I was interviewed for one of the new jobs (basically my current job combined with bits from another person's job). Due to one of the applicants being rather ill and unable to fly into Head Office for her interview, notifications of the new post holders has been delayed. She has been interviewed by telephone today, so we should know what's what in the coming days I imagine.

My question is this:

I work 36 weeks per year, 36 hours per week (term time, school hours). I have an annual salary which is paid over the entire 12 months - so it's nice that I get a pay cheque when I'm off during summer etc.

However, my start date with the company was in a September (3 years ago). I worked the entire year, and received full pay throughout the summer months, same for the second year. This year, I have worked up until my last normal working day which was Friday the 10th July. I have learnt that other employees have been told we will not be paid in August, but rather, receive our regular July pay cheque, and in August, we will be paid until August 7th only - as that would be our 30 days notice.

I would think, that seeing as I have already done the entire 36 weeks of work for the year, that the earnings for August are owed to me for work already done. I don't know what effect this would have on 30 days notice (seeing as I wouldn't be working it anyway as my job does not exist during the summer months).

I have checked my annual pay, divided by the 36 weeks etc., and checked my payslips, and I am in fact being paid over the entire 12 months.

Am I entitled to the full month's pay in August as I've already worked the hours in order to get that?
Of course, I'm hoping that I get one of the new jobs, however, they don't start until September, which would leave me without a pay cheque for August. Any advice or direction on where to look, who to talk to etc., would be appreciated.

Wow - nobody had an answer - I'm floored! lol

However, no need now - as I was one of the lucky ones who was rehired after a successful interview for my old job back (with a few changes/modifications). Feeling very lucky :)

Glad that you were one of the lucky ones. However, if it was to happen again, id look into your contract firstly to see if that gave any indicators on your pay if you became 'at risk'. If you had no pointers there then obviously CAB or a union would be the next best place to get the right advise that you would have needed. Congratulations once again
