Credit Card Help

Hello,

I have an Abbey zero credit card with £3000 on it after i went travelling for a few months. I was advised to move the debts onto another 0%card. Would this be a good idea to shift the debts and reduce charges?

I am at the moment looking for a job since coming back from travelling, would it be an idea to wait for a job till i apply for a credit card, would it affect my limit?

Thank you for your help!

Do you have 0% offer running on the Abbey card. If not it would make sense to move to another 0% card.

Generally speaking yes, you will get better offers if you are earning and limits depend on the available credit (used/unused) you have, your income/exp etc. etc. The later is very much dependent on the card issuer though some are more generous than others.

Its a good idea to move to a 0% card if you are currently being charged interest on your existing cc. Whether a lender is willing to give you a card when you are unemployed is another matter, to be honest I think you would struggle to get any credit card let along a 0% balance transfer card whilst you are unemployed.
