Glad I read the reviews, I really fancied one of these. I'm only a coffee drinker, but hubby is mainly a tea drinker, so no good if it doesn't boil properly.

I was put off buying the tefal quick cup earlier this year. The initial cost as well as the cost of replacing a filter and the mixed reviews put me off buying it.
However about 8 weeks ago i grabbed a bargain in argos and decided it was worth the £27.99. I must say i haven't regeretted the purchase. My son who does like his tea very hot still sometimes reverts to using a kettle but otherwise i find it great for tea, coffee, sauces etc Living in a soft water area the filter isn't necessary for hot water - so no need to buy filters and all the while saving electricity. If you often find yourself boiling a kettle for a small amount of water this is definately for you.0 -
Has anyone tried the Breville one? That one is supposed to dispense boiling water and the reviews seem quite good. Would be interested to hear if anyone has one.
Hi there, I have the Breville one (since October last year) and it does dispense boiling water and doesn't require a filter either, but you do have to descale it as you would a kettle if you live in hard water area like me.
The one thing I really like about it is that you are not having to lift a heavy kettle full of boiling water, which means it alot safer for all the family to use. I have 3 teenagers who happily make me a cup of tea now - stick the cup under the nozzle, teabag in cup - voila!! I am very happy with it and when it eventually dies a death, would be happy to buy another one. Hope this is useful.Heard the Shaggy Taxi Wind Up Phone Call?

Nice idea - shame they don't deliver.
Pretty much all modern kettles have concealed elements, it's just as efficient to put in one mug of water and boil it up in seconds.0 -
These are very nifty gadgets my friend had one when i was house sitting for her and i loved it but she said she had 2 within a few months that both broke down and ended up going back to a normal kettle. Maybe the breville one would be better although the asda quick boil mentioned sounds pretty good.November Wins: 50p voucher Danone
