Delay Sending Statements

I have a CC by Citibank.
I received my statement today and it's dated 3rd July.
Why do they take so long to send them after the statement date ?


It's the same with some utility bills, they arrive about 10 days after the bill date and sometimes say on them payment must be received by a date which is 14 days after the statement date. You then only have a few days to send payment and if it says allow four days you cannot pay it in the allocated time.

I have a few credit cards and find that CC statements seem to arrive mostly on a Sat morning.
