I had a claim going through the banks for charges that was put on hold July 2007.
At the moment we are really struggling due to my partner being out of work for the past couple of months only having a couple of shifts here and there. We are struggling with our bills and our accounts are into the overdrafts. Where do I stand with my claim, do I need to start it over again or can I claim hardship? I'm really desperate now to do something, I've read though the website but it has confused me more
There have been more charges since july 2007.
If anyone can give me a breakdown on what to do I'd really appreciate it, I'm at my wits end with worry

Write to them asking them to review your claim as you are now in finacial difficulty. Enclose a statement of charges which includes the recent charges.
Head the letter:

However, bare in mind that most banks assess FH on the basis of arrears in priority debts
Mention any of the following that apply to you:

Level of priority debt arrears against free income available
Utility arrears such as gas/electricity threat of being cut off
Mortgage arrears
Council Tax arrears
Credit card debts
Repossession
Serious health issues both physically and mentally
Threat of possible suicide
No money for food or rent
You should include an Income & Expenditure sheet See here:
