After finally getting rid of my Fisher Price PC i have bought Left 4 Dead.

Questions:

Anyone play it?
Any patches?
Any mods?

Anyone want to let me team with them?!

    I play it. Cracking game. Patches applied automatically by steam and there have been a few. You can now make/play your own campaigns but I haven't tried yet. I used to like survival mode but its full of people exploiting bugs / loopholes etc and shout if you try and play properly.

    Expert is pretty hard now (since all the patches) esp if you're playing with a group of strangers, and one of them tries to be rambo. Only managed to complete 2 campaigns on expert since latest patch!

    bah! What bugs/exploits are you talking about? I stopped playing BF2 because of all the haxors.

    Hacks/cheats/exploits won't matter in Left 4 Dead, the best part of the game is Co-op mode.

    And as for BF2.... as with all FPS games, if your a genuine "out for fun and fair play" gamer, your best solution is organised LAN events.

    Kids cheat because its the easy way to avoid losing and "cheat books" are a childs best friend (we all know it), just look on Google and search for "left 4 dead cheats", you'll see that Google has had more that 5 million hits on that search term.

    Since broadband internet and PCs became widely available/affordable, the online gaming community has fallen into nothingness.... and it's mostly because of young disrespectful children who can't face or accept losing at a game.

    The harder the game and the better the competition, the more cheating you'll find.

    Luckily some bugs were removed the other week - eg infinite molotovs, certain safe spots in levels where zombies can't reach you (airport level / lighthouse survival 2 examples). But some (ingenius) safe spots remain, esp on the sewer level to allow you to go back the safe house, or getting on the barn roof in the boat level (survival). Fun to try once, annoying when every round people try and do it.

    But yeah, coop the best part. Left 4 dead 2 out later this year too!

    Biggest gripe I have with Left 4 Dead.... Is the match making system! there's no way to browse and join servers without going through the match making lobby, or connecting directly via the console "connect IP" command (only if the server allows direct connections).
    I curse Xbox and PS3 users for this "great invention", PC gamers don't want simple fluffy bunny interfaces.... We want choice and functionality!

    Yes but unless your in a game lobby it doesn't show any servers. Plus you can only join a server that has been set to allow direct connections, this rules out all the official dedicated servers and most of the rest :(
